Western cities nowadays flourish from discount shops, in which products so cheap can be found that it becomes hard to imagine that only an "economy of scale" can make them so affordable. One sometimes gets the feeling that someone is paying at some point in the process, as buying the raw material and processing it would make us expect a much more expensive products. These items can then be seen as another standard raw material, available locally and ready for appropriation.
The presentation tables have been made from broom sticks purchased in one of these stores, the Action shop. The system and logistic of these shops coincidentally gather different types of wood to make cheap broom sticks. When combined in a construction, the random wood reveals unexpected nuances of colour.
