sealed chair

Sealed Chair is the outcome a of handcrafted production process that makes use of plastic in an unconventional yet simple way. Whereas producing plastic furniture usually implies advanced and expensive tooling, the production of these chairs only requires open moulds and an oven. Standard plastic rods are made flexible in the oven and then bent in the moulds. When the parts have cooled down, connection points are milled in and the chairs assembled. Depending on whether two or three parts are combined, chairs or armchairs can be produced.

The process being simple and the tooling affordable, production can be made locally in different places.
